Sorry to report that while I was contacting animal rescue folks this morning, the rabbit that was abandoned in our butterfly garden died. We figure whoever left it there thought the garden was part of the Celery Farm.

It might have been sick — probably why it was abandoned in the first place.

Thanks to everyone who offered advice — much appreciated. Just sad that it ended this way.

Will probably save the cage for future raptor rescues, unless someone can use it. Let me  know.

Also note: Animal Control said that I should have called the police as soon as I discovered the rabbit — police would have called them, and perhaps they might have been able to save it. Something to keep in mind in the future.
