Incorporating the Celery Farm and Screech Owl Companion blogs
Thanks to All Our Cleanup Folks!
Although the cleanup was postponed to a Sunday morning, a tough time for a lot of folks, we still had nine folks combing the muddy paths, fields and forests for trash.
A big thanks to Molly Gardener (not shown), Sue Dougherty, Doug & Ryan Morel (not shown), Diane Van Kempen, Monica Cardoza, Patty Finn, the Nussbaums (Gary, Pilar, & Max; not shown) and John Marsh (not shown).
Marsh Warden Mike Limatola (above) organized and ran the cleanup. Thanks, Mike!
All told, we picked up several bags of beer bottles, beer cans, water bottles, dental floss holders, and assorted trash, plus some bamboo left along Franklin Turnpike near the parking lot.
The Celery Farm is looking good. after this spring cleaning. Now, if only the trails would dry out.
Trash of the day, for me, was this brightly colored children's ball, located in the brambles and water behind the Troop 59 Look Out.
It had been bugging me for a few months. Only fell in once trying to retrieve it.
Why someone found it necessary to bring it into the Celery Farm is beyond me. (It did have a Toucan on it.)
