When I'm at State Line, I sometimes see people ignoring the warning signs to stay away from the cliffs at State Line Lookout.
That includes parents with their young children. Bad idea.
The downside? It's 552 feet, to be exact.
You might slip and fall off — or the cliff face might collapse, as evidenced in the above photo I took for LightHawk many years ago.
I am reminded of the slogan on the wall of my favorite luncheonette, Two Black Dogs Cafe, on Route 47 on the bay side north of Cape May:
