Still can’t figure out how many baby squirrels there are because they are partly concealed by leaves and bedding material when Mom heads out.
As you can see by the photo above, they are getting very big. They are voracious eaters, and
Mrs. Squirrel often seems exhausted.
Saw a new behavior from two of the babies today — they each licked their mom’s mouth for minutes at a time. Not sure what this for.
If anyone has any ideas, pass them along.
