Birder John Tworksy reports seeing 12-plus snow geese on Lake Appert just before dawn this morning.
They soon took off in a loose formation and were visible for two or three minutes as they headed south.
"I nearly fell off the platform," he says. "The black wing tips were the give-away."
Marsh Warden Stiles Thomas thinks this might be a first for the Celery Farm. He says single snow geese have been reported previously.
