As I sat at my dining room table and looked out toward the Celery Farm at 7:20 today, I saw a Red Fox ambling along the path in a clockwise direction. About 30 yards from the parking lot, he hung a right and jogged out onto the lake.
Moments later, I saw a Red-hooded jogger ambling along the path in the same direction, unaware of the fox's recent presence.
I have seen fox tracks in my back yard and side yard this winter, but this was my first fox sighting of the year. I reached for my camera but the fox was long gone.
Moral of story: If you're at the CF in the early morning, have your camera at the ready. Short version: Be prepared...
