Rob Fanning’s ‘CF Magic Day’

Rob Fanning writes:

I have dubbed Sept. 18 "Celery Farm Magic Day" because I have seen some pretty special/unusual birds here on this date, including: Peregrine Falcon, Connecticut Warbler, Dickcissel, Red-necked Phalarope, and CF's 1st and only Western Kingbird.

Best bird today were 2 PECTORAL SANDPIPERS hanging out w/ a flock of 13 Lesser Yellowlegs. A Solitary Sandpiper was keeping company w/ a Spotted Sandpiper close to the Warden's Watch–for a 4 shorebird morning!

My first of season "Western" PALM WARBLER was a pleasant surprise, 2 BOBOLINKS "pinked" their way overhead, and a RT HUMMINGBIRD hovered in front of me–as if to say goodbye until next year…

Full list follows. (Thanks, Rob!)
