My New Book Is Here
I am pleased to report that The Peregrine Falcon from Schiffer Books -- the folks who did such a beautiful…
Rob sez:
Got a tip from Chris Takas that he had found a female LESSER
(presumably) SCAUP at the Celery Farm along with an Im. BRANT on the
lake.
Both birds were still there when I went after work–the Scaup
actively diving and the Brant first seen tucked in sleeping but then
finally waking up and swimming when the first flock of Canada Geese
came in.
This is only the 2nd "on the ground" BRANT I have ever seen at
the CF.
Chris also photographed an interesting warbler near Pirie
which is most likey an extremely late Im. Yellow Warbler. This would be
the first Oct. record for the CF.
Other ducks at CF incl. Gadwall (25+), Shoveler (12), Wigeon (2), and GW Teal.
