Although the problem of turtles crossing the road seems particularly acute near the Celery Farm in late May and early June, the problem is worse in other parts of the state — most notably with imperiled Diamondback Terrapins in the southern part of the state.
Conserve Wildlife Foundation wrote extensively about the problem here.
