  Just past noon, Denise scanned the southern part of Monksville with her high-powered spotting scope and spotted a loon.

  Sean and Denise have moved a couple times with the scope for a better view, but it is definitely a loon and possibly the Pacific loon.

   Within scope range but alas, far beyond my camera range.
