A bit of drama at the Duke Farms Bald Eagle nest this morning. One of the two chicks left the nest just before 6 a.m. It was located an hour and a half later via the Eagle Cam.
I posted several items on the Duke Farms blog regarding the AWOL chick. Last year on this day as two chicks were getting ready to fledge, lightning struck the nest tree and knocked out the cam.
