I have been flooded with calls, texts and e-mails all day, more or less, from folks asking: "Has Fyke Wrested the Crowphy from Bergen County Audubon yet?

I tell every, "Not yet. Yes, today is Fyke's Christmas Bird Count, but the results are not in yet."

As you may recall, BCAS eked out a victory last year in the CBC competition last year, 84 species to 80, giving Fyke a four species handicap this year.

The BCAS had an amazing 90-ish count a few weeks ago. Now only time will tell. 

Several Fykers are no doubt still pishing as I type this.
