    My birding column in The Record and Herald-News today is all about the Christmas Bird Count — and how you can participate.

  The event has been held annually since 1900, and one of the first "circles" of counters was in Englewood.

  There are three local circles that you can participate in, and column provides the info you need to get involved. Be aware there  could be a $5 registration fee.
