My New Column: Our Area Hawk Watches

My latest column for The Record is all about the soon-to-take-off Broad-wing migration at our region's three most popular hawk watches — in Alpine, Montclair and nearby Warwick, N.Y.

The big Broad-wing count day for the hawk watches should be late next week or so.

The expanded column features a terrific photo of a Broad-wing by the incomparable Kevin Watson and a quote by the legendary Stiles Thomas, who founded Warwick's Mount Peter Hawk Watch in 1958.
