A New Facebook Campaign
I recently started a new Facebook page for Protect Our Wildlife and Pets, an ad hoc coalition formed to address…
My latest "Bird Watcher" column for The Record is a murder mystery called "The Case of the Spurious Sparrow." Can you solve it?
The column features detective work by the legendary Stiles Thomas, and a nifty House Sparrow pic by Barbara Dilger. (House Sparrows were the murder victims.)
Link is here.
Ah…I see those menacing GRACKLES are at it again!
Cowbirds. “Spurious” because the Cowbirds were attempting to take over the House Sparrow nests. All of the victims were females (defending the nest) or juveniles (in the nest).
