A New Facebook Campaign
I recently started a new Facebook page for Protect Our Wildlife and Pets, an ad hoc coalition formed to address…
My latest column for The Record is all about the eccentric shorebird known as the Killdeer, currently nesting in a local parking lot and other equally inappropriate (to humans) locales.

My first encounter with a Killdeer was also before I started birding. It’s haunting call sent me in search of it’s identity. It was nesting on the flat pebbly roof of a building. After the roof was replaced with a newer rubber version, no more Killdeer nested there.
