More Trap Cam Mammal Pix!
When Stiles and I downloaded the images from the trap cam yesterday, we saw a familiar deer — then several strange animals. Were Stiles and Sis surprised!
Several were non-native and perhaps even invasive, so we are not sure if their presence is a exactly a good thing.
From the best we could discern, the "exotics" are two reindeer, a unicorn, and a disturbingly oversized squirrel.
The two reindeer. Both apparently lacked a clever nickname, like "Blitzen."
Solitary reindeer. Hard to tell if the nose was red because of the infra-red cam. No sleigh in sight, but it's a few days early.
Oversized squirrel. We think it is part marsupial because of the pockets.
Unicorn is on the left, squirrel is on the right.
Unicorn continues to try to eat seed meant for long-necked geese.
We think this is either the monster from "Dr. No" or a snow plow.
Still no photos of the bear that bent Stiles' feeder pole. Disappointed!
More of Stiles' trap cam pix are here.

Not so sure about that. 🙂

Those ARE exotics . . . not a single bird-brain in the bunch!

I’m feeling conflicted because they say, “If you see something, say something.”

Great fun, thanks to all for the laughs. Looking forward to more A’dale exotics…?

I love the chatty nature of their meeting…with hand in pocket yet…how casual, lol. Where did you get those costumes? The 1920’s are calling and they want their costumes back, LMAO!

I couldn’t make any positive identifications myself. But one thing I know for sure: They’re all snazzy dressers, especially the squirrel (chipmunk?) walking nonchalantly toward the feeders, a hand casually placed in the pants pocket. The squirrels in my yard are so twitchy and nervous, and don’t dress well at all.

The Reindeer were somewhat expected given the time of year–but the Unicorn–now that has to be a first for Allendale! Great documentation!

Amazing to have such well-documented sightings! 🙂

Keeping us entertained. Thanks all
