I am thinking fungus, but what?

    My best guess is that it is some kind of a jelly fungus.

  • In your first photo, I thought I saw a sweet gum seed, so I thought maybe wet rotting sweet gum.. I also noticed what looked like little hairs on some leaf edges. My other thought was some kind of brown reindeer lichen, but can only find green. Then the photo of a Venus flytrap but brown and rotting, but of course not that. I searched through a lichen guide online and this is the closest I found will be interesting to know what it is….http://www.discoverlife.org/mp/20q?guide=Lichens_USGA
