Monday’s Skull Mystery Thickens
On Monday, I asked regarding the photo above:
What skull could be this size? I photographed it on Saturday.
Folks thought it might be the skull of a vole or mouse.
The strange thing is, when I posted a photo of the same skull as part of a Monday mystery last month, folks thought it was a much larger mammal. How can that be?

You are getting warmer, but that is definitely a quarter!

Chipmunk?

The coin in this phot is definitely a quarter…..

Last month’s skull is next to a ?foreign coin (I can’t make out the imprint) much smaller than a quarter.

You could certainly pick up a lot of leaves, though!
On the use of a nickel for scale. . . The plot does thicken, and size does matter. It is not pointy enough for a vole.
Find out how to clean one here. Ah, the things you can learn on the internet! http://m.discoverwildlife.com/british-wildlife/naturalist-skills/how-identify-small-mammal-skulls -
Was the original coin a quarter or a dime? I cannot make it out.

Because you originally did not give a picture of the scale of the skull relating to a quarter? But since you have been so obsessed with skulls I need to show you something. Anyone interested in this mystery? What designer created this shoe? It is based on a bird skull. It may not be a good fit for trekking the Celery farm though:
