Monday Morning Mystery
Yesterday morning, top Celery Farm Nature Preserve birder Julie McCall saw an unusual-looking hawk over the Green Way fields. Although…

On Monday I asked readers to I.D. this bird, and asked why I thanked Elaine Rizzo.
Answered: Technically, it’s a snow snowy owl, and I thanked Elaine Rizzo because she sculpted it.
“My owl is 40” high and took me 3 hrs. to sculpt. Fun fact: snowy owls have 4 talons on each foot — 2 facing forward and 2 facing backwards.” Thanks, Elaine.
