We saw this guy on a recent trip to Chincoteague.
What is he, and why he is significant for New Jersey nature lovers? Clue follows.
Looks like the Delmarva Fox squirrel, but I wasn’t aware that they lived as far south as Chincoteague. Many years ago I saw them at Blackwater National Wildlife refuge in Maryland.
Right now the squirrels are not on our happy list regarding our gutter hanging feeders. First time in 33 yrs. they got to them. Tree grew and they can get on our roof. However, endangered isn’t good either. Is it a flying squirrel?
