On Monday, I asked:

Can you help me identify this hawk that perched on Bob Kantola's backyard deck railing for about 10 minutes last week?

He lives in River Vale, about a block west of Lake Tappan.

Mary Kostus thinks it's an immature Cooper's Hawk, which makes sense.

My first reaction was immature Red-tail, based on the old saying, "If you see a hawk, it's (probably) a Red-tail," but I'll go with Mary.  (Thanks, Mary!)
