Incorporating the Celery Farm and Screech Owl Companion blogs
Monday Morning Mystery 082817
With this photograph last week, Walt Staab completed a rare Celery Farm raptor trifecta.
What was the trifecta, and what kind of fish does this bird have?
(Thanks, Walt!)

I’m with Ron Shields- def a bunker however where’d it come from ? Hudson, Hackie, Meadowlands??

I think the eyes of the fish and the osprey match. That said…I got nothing.

It’a a flying fish!!! Actually, it looks like a menhaden or a mossbunker which is high on the osprey’s diet.

i’ll take a stab at it…
bald eagle / peregrine falcon / osprey for the trifecta.
and as for what kind of fish? miffed, and as yet unaccepting of its fate.
(ok, on a more serious note, i will take a wild guess and say largemouth bass. i don’t know what i’m talking about, though. but i *am* sure it’s not nemo or dory.)
