Look Out for the Celery Farm Mink

1-IMG_2332-002
Barbara Dilger and I both happened upon a mink at the Spillway (by the Warden's Watch, near the parking lot) this morning around 8:40, and it did not seemed very concerned about us.

At one point it started heading in our direction and was on the Spillway bridge at one point. I took several photos before it moved away.  One of the photos is full frame with a 400mm lens, just to show you how close it got.

Nice looks at that white chin. I doubt they would go after a human but I would not linger if I saw this guy again.

I also, saw the little beast around 11 AM this morning. It was my first sighting and I was very excited. I was approaching the bridge and he appeared on the other side to the right, coming over the edge of the trail. I did NOT have my camera !!! Got a very small shot with my phone. He then scampered around the south end of the lake, through the holly grove, and then up the other side of the lake. I was thrilled!

  • Great shots. Glad it is still around.

  • Is the hole on the path toward Watch his hole? It was this winter.

  • AWESOME!!!
