Little Wood Satyr at Celery Farm
For the second year in a row on our First-Satyrday walks, we saw a Little Wood Satyr. These are the only times I've seen them at the CF, but have seen them on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
Also has a couple of skippers, an Eastern Tiger Swallowtail and a Monarch (below). Last year's Satyr post, with a link to a list of the Butterflies of the Celery Farm, is here.

It is a Monarch, a Viceroy would have a black wing vein bar going through it’s hind wing (lower wing). I looked it up myself :), not gonna pretend like I knew that :). Here’s a link though:

That’s not a Viceroy, it’s a Monarch!!

I’ve never seen Little Wood Satyr. Sounds like it was a great walk between the birds and butterflies! How do you tell the difference between a Monarch and a Viceroy?
