A New Facebook Campaign
I recently started a new Facebook page for Protect Our Wildlife and Pets, an ad hoc coalition formed to address…
Around 7:40 a.m. today, I was lucky to watch a Cooper's Hawk go after a Belted Kingfisher on Lake Appert.
Although the cat-and-mouse (Coop-and-Kingfisher) game was at pretty far down the lake, I could still see the Kingfisher's incredible agility as it escaped the Coop by hitting the water and stopping on a dime, and then reversing its direction.
Had only seen this once before, and a treat.
Also photographed this Eastern Phoebe, who was far more serene.
