I’m Back from a Trip to Cuba

DSCN9836-001
Spent more than a week participating in a bird survey at several sites south and west of Havana as part of a terrific trip with the Caribbean Conservation Trust. IMG_6225

Saw many endemics, including Bare-legged Owl, Cuban Tody, Zapata Wren, Cuban Black Hawk and Zapata Sparrow (right).

Poor guy was embarrassed by a molting tail, so he hid it behind some greenery.

Planning to write a column about birding in Cuba for The Record in two weeks, so stay tuned.
