Today is March 1, and that can mean only one thing. Tomorrow is March 2.
That, and the fact that despite the overnight snow and rain, spring is around Barking Dog Corner.
The shot above is of a common merganser as it flew almost directly over the Warden’s Watch.
A friend and I saw a pair of them land on Lake Appert, then take off and leave a minute later. By the time, I got my camera going, the mercurial mergansers were overhead.
So much for being prepared, and my other Boy Scout training.
