Good News on Ridgefield Park Eagle Nest

Alice the bald eagle, with a transmitter attached to her back. She and partner Al make their nest on the banks of Overpeck Creek in Ridgefield Park. The developers of a site in Ridgefield Park that has been home to a nesting pair of Bald Eagles has announced a new construction plan that will not disturb a 330-foot buffer zone around the nest — potentially great news for the federally protected raptors.

The photo above is of the nesting female, nicknamed Alice, taken by Alice Leurck, for whom the eagle is named.
