Give Bergen Audubon a Boost

This from Ray Edel in The Record:

The late Nancy Bristow was a valuable volunteer at the New Jersey Botanical Gardens.

Per one of my blog posts at "Compostings," the BCAS applied for a 2014 Green America Award, sponsored by Nature Hills Nursery.

And as luck would have it, they were selected as a finalist.

They are in the running for the $1,500 (first) or $750 (second) prize in plants. If they win, the plants will be used to enhance the butterfly garden at Teaneck Creek Conservancy, Teaneck.

In the first round, the BCAS beat the HAS Community Garden in Chicago in a "bracket" format. In the second round, they beat Hampton Grows, Hampton, Va.

Now, in the finals, they are taking on El Paso Academy, El Paso. They need your vote.

The winners will be chosen by Facebook votes — and voting on the Nature Hills page has begun. (The "vote here" button is at the top of the page, right under "message.")

In order to vote, each person has to "like" the Nature Hills page (facebook.com/naturehills), then click on the "vote here" button near the top of the page.

The final round will run through Wednesday. The winners will be announced on Friday.
