Don Torino’s Column on Bald Eagles’ Nest

Don Torino's latest column for wildnewjersey.tv is about the nesting Bald Eagles in Ridgefield Park. Here's a sample:
Already the home improvements have begun, more sticks and branches have been carried in to fortify the enormous nest in preparation for the upcoming breeding season.
Alice & Al, as this pair of urban Bald Eagles have become known, are hard at work hoping to add to their already 6 young Bald Eagles that have successfully fledged in the past three years on the Overpeck in Ridgefield Park.
But as these two magnificent birds struggle to survive and bring on the next generation of Bald Eagles for another year, they remain unaware of the far more serious threat to their nest.
