Fred Weber, who cleared some fallen trees at the Celery Farm last week, writes:
Please leave alone the rotten pieces of wood on the south side of the Yellow Birch at the little bridge to Phairs Pond.
They are there to minimize foot traffic and soil compaction over the roots.
It's a rare tree this far south.
