Last month, I posted about an Eastern Bluebird Box that I helped Stiles Thomas install in Gardiner, N.Y.

The post also talks about Stiles' decades long involvement in providing nest boxes for bluebirds. You can see it here.

Although bluebirds checked out the box early, dreaded House Sparrows were thinking of nesting there instead.

A rag was placed in the opening to keep the House Sparrows out.

On Friday, the rag was removed.

I took the above photo on Saturday morning.  Fingers crossed.
