I try not to get too far afield on this blog, but thought I would pass along these news articles about a white-crowned sparrow, which has created quite a stir in England, where it is very rare.
To quote from one of the stories:
"… the Norfolk village of Cley has been overwhelmed by an
influx of twitchers, distinguishable by their anoraks, binoculars,
hi-tech lenses and hushed excitement."
The Brits make the rare sightings at the Celery Farm seem rather tame by comparison. The only twitchers are the CF are birders who’ve had way too much coffee.
