Thanks for the post and Record article- love these little guys – I have a Carolina wren(s) (white eye stripe/redish coloring) that appeared last year and has stayed around. Love the cheeseburger/figaro/ cheeseburger call – Don T assisted in id-ing the call on my cellphone before he appeared in person – ha. I will try for a picture and send.

I was lucky enough to hear one sing at Teaneck creek about 2 years ago , one of the most beautiful and melodious songs in the woods !

Thanks for a great article Jim! The Winter Wren is one of my favorite birds. I like your comparison to a church mouse since Winter Wrens are so mouse-like in their movements. When I catch a glimpse of scurrying movement in the vicinity of a fallen log I find myself hoping for a (too seldom) Winter Wren sighting.
