A Quick Shout-out to Leica

DSCN0102-001
I am not one to plug any companies or products, but I've probably owned my Leica spotting scope for 15 years and sure gotten my money's worth. Not only do I use it to spot and I.D. distant birds on the Celery Farm's Lake Appert, but I have taken it on countless bird walks and field trips.

A year or two ago, I realized it needed a tune-up, and much to my surprise and delight, I discovered that the Leica Repair Center for the United States not only is located in Bergen County but it is also in Allendale, off Boroline Road just a black walnut's throw from the Celery Farm.

Leica made it seem like new again, for a fair price.

Recently, when I broke a plastic protector for the eyepiece, they were nice enough to repair it while I waited.  Pretty cool, and local!  I even walk there via the Celery Farm and the Brotherton Bridge.

(Thanks, Leica.)
