A Young Peregrine on the Ascent
Yesterday in the Mohonk Preserve near New Paltz, N.Y., Chris Nadareski of the NYC DEP released four young rehabbed peregrines,…
Did a walk in a woods (not the Celery Farm!!!!) the other day and came across tons of Mourning Cloaks and several nifty birds.
Can you I.D. them?
And do you know how the Mourning cloak got its name?
Thanks, Marilyn. Bird pix could have been better.
Far right I think are male and female downy woodpeckers. Middle is a tufted titmouse. Far left I can’t see too well, but it might be a goldfinch. Finished your new book, and loved it. Very interesting.
