Horned Grebe at the Celery Farm
My first ever here. And the spring arrivals are arriving! The grebe was No. 186 on my Celery Farm life…
Seymour Drakes notes that things are really hopping at DeKorte Park in the Meadowlands.
His so-called friend Jim Wright got lucky and photographed a rare bird called a Wheatear — an apparent first for Bergen County.
The resultant influx of great birders to see the Wheatear (above, photo courtesy of the NJ Meadowlands Commission) has touched off a lot of other cool sightings, including Golden Plover, immature Glossy Ibis, Soras, and hundreds of egrets and yellowlegs.
