Butterfly Walk!
Apparently the butterflies did not get the memo about the Fyke Nature Association's annual Tom Burr Memorial Butterfly Walk, because those winged wonders were few and far between.
Stars of the morning were definitely the clear-winged moths.
We had nice looks at both the Snowberry and Hummingbird Clear-winged Moths.
Also had a Green Heron and a Tree Swallow or two.
A big thanks to all our participants!

I went back with Patty in the afternoon, and we had Silver-spotted Skippers, Pearl Crescents, a smaller skipper (Dun), and just missed a Red Admiral that a jogger had blundered past while two folks were trying to photograph.
Sunshine and warmer temps can make a difference.
Saw a Comma on Friday afternoon but not again on Saturday.
Thanks for the report. -
I was there for quite a while on Friday and had two Eastern Commas on the Allendale Brook side and three Cabbage Whites at three different sites.
