Ever wonder how Race Track Road in Ho-Ho-Kus got its name?
I wrote a story for The Record today on the amazing old Ho-Ho-Kus Speedway — and its sudden and horrific demise on July 4, 1938. The link is here.
Stiles Thomas, Marsh Warden emeritus of the Celery Farm, is quoted in the story.
The raceway in 1938 is also a setting for my archival-photo-illustrated ghost story "Phantoms of the Ramapos," available as a free iTunes download.
