2015 Celery Farm Big Year Results
Here are the final totals for the Celery Farm 2015 Big Year Challenge, a friendly competition designed to encourage everyone to bird the CF more often.
Rob Fanning, 172 species. (I hope to post Rob's list and three favorite CF birds for 2015 tomorrow.)
Julie McCall, 153 species. My favorite Celery Farm bird this year would have to be a tie between the male Eastern Bluebird who was checking out the nest box at the butterfly garden and the American Bittern that was staring at me at No-name Culvert that I almost wrote off as phragmites.
Fred Weber, 148 species.
Doug Morel, 127 species.
Krzysztof Bystrowski, 126 species. My favorite bird of 2015 was the Black-billed Cuckoo, a very secretive bird with a red-rimmed eye.
Jim Wright, 120 species — Ralph the Redhead was my favorite because he stayed around and made a lot of folks happy.
Louise Riccobene, 103 species.
Charley West, 95 species.
Patty Finn and Jim Wright, 57 species.
Ravi and Namita Potluri, 55 species.
Ron Stuken, 48 species.
