2 Pileateds in Same Tree @ CF
The lighting stunk but the birds were unmistakable — a pair of Pileated Woodpeckers working the same tree this morning around 10 a.m. in the Celery Farm.
A few lucky people got to see the show.
The two were across the Allendale Brook from the Pirie Mayhood Tower and then worked their way down the brook.
I can't recall ever seeing a pair on the same tree in the Celery Farm.

Great shot. I was lucky a few years ago to have two together in my yard, a male and female.

Great shot! The younger one has a teen hair style … Mohawk?

Fantastic photo! I thought I saw one fly west across Franklin Turnpike in Ramsey a little before 9:30 this morning.
It’s always wonderful to see Pileateds! -
That is so neat, wish I was there this morning! Nice shot. I agree with Mike, the one looks young too, how cute!!!

Jim, Great shot, forget the lighting! I have never seen 2 together like that at the Farm or anywhere, for that matter.

Thanks again, Jim! As of about 10:30,they had worked their way down the brook, and flew across the “wood duckling pond” and into the trees in the direction of the Holly Grove, when I lost sight of them.
