Came across this great ad from 1926. For a bank, no less. 

Best line:  "If you are asked to help finance any project, find out first if it is a scheme to thwart or improve nature." 

Can you imagine a bank with an ad like this today?

I checked to see if I could invest with Lewis & Company, but a Google Search brought me to a company selling Rosary parts. Hmmm.
