Yellowstone Mystery Answered

DSCN0242On Monday, I asked:

What's going on in this photo from Yellowstone?

The answer: A work crew is clearing seven-plus feet of snow from a poorly designed roof.

Jeff Henry and his colleagues saw the snow into blocks and slide it off.

That's our guide, Josh,  holding the saw next to Jeff.

It was the subject of a BBC video, here.

Kudos to Irene Auleta, who answered correctly: "The snow design is used to make snow removal easier. Blocks of snow are cut off one section at a time."
