Came across this guy in the Celery Farm’s wildflower garden this afternoon — a woolly bear caterpillar.
It may not be great for predicting winter weather, despite the folk lore, but it does turn into a neat moth.

Oops. “woolly worms”
I just have to say that I love woolly bears and look forward to seeing them this time of the year. I also look forward to sharing the experience of feeling this ticklely little guy with my 2 year old. Now for my contribution: in some parts of the country they are called “wolly worms”.
