What is this, where is this, and what's the point? (Suggested by John Workman at some point in the past year — thanks, John!)

    I have always used them to hang my backpack, and have been grateful for them.
    But should I ever get a scope, I will remember this!

    these (three) so that he and other birders with
    Scopes can attach them so that people would not trip
    On the tripod legs. They are on the Pirie Platform. But I

    Thanks for putting this up, Jim. Yes, it looks like a small shelf. About the right size for holding a shot glass while watching for Snipe. It must have something to do with the secret birding ceremonies known only to the early morning regulars of the Hour on the Tower. We should send an anthropologist up there.
