Tick time

   This weekend promises to be a beauty, with warm and sunny weather.

   Warblers and other avian migrants are arriving in larger numbers, joining the palm warbler pictured here twitching its tail at the Celery Farm.

   Top birder Rob Fanning saw more than dozen at the Celery Farm this morning, and another birder reports seeing more than two dozen at the Tenafly Nature Center.

   A few words of caution: Look out for ticks — I have received reports of people finding ticks embedded in their skin already this spring.

   Deer ticks are particularly nasty — they can carry Lyme Disease.

    At the very least, use insect repellent and stay on trails.
