A week ago Monday, on that snowy morning, I had the male harrier on my driveway with a small bird in its talons. He pulled off some feathers and began pecking away at the prey. I was astounded by seeing this unusual species so close to the house. His dining on his breakfast gave me lots of time to identify him. Wonder how long they stay around here??
