The Big Sit
All I can say is that it seemed like a good idea at the time.
I signed up to participate in an event called the Big Sit, which entails a team of birders sitting or standing in one spot for an entire day and seeing how many species of birds they can see during that time.
For some reason that now escapes me, I signed up for the 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. shift on Sunday.
My teammates and I will be at the Pirie Platform in the Celery Farm during that time frame.
Please stop by and wish us well.
Our team is the See More Drakes, and includes local birders extraordinaire Rufus Mourner, Perry Grinfalcon, Dick Sissel, Rob Fanning, Stephanie Seymour, Kevin Watson, Charley West, and Bill Drummond, as well as yours truly, the eponymous Seymour Drakes.
Some of us may even be real — or awake.

I thought of all’the boys’ when I awoke at 5:20am knowing you were all there-who made breakfast or was it just coffee? I had to be at church early today-my husband directs the men’s chorus and they sang at all 3 services. Am going to the farm later with my friend but will not see that wonderful sunrise. Someday soon I will make. You all inspire me.
Had Rob & Ginny Pirie over for dinner last month-friends from church-who also inspire me.He loves the Farm, too, of course.
