The Big Dead-Fish Clean-Up
A huge thank you to the volunteers who pitched in yesterday to remove all those dead fish from the Celery…
Last year I wrote a "Bird Watcher" column about the amazing Audubon murals project in Upper Manhattan.
Avi Gitler, the driving force behind the project, reports:
Attaching an image of a recent mural in Astoria Queens on the East River facing the U.E.S. and the FDR drive.
Two 4o-foot American Black Ducks!
We're at 111 bird species depicted on 80 (or so) murals.
Thanks, Avi!
I chose the column for inclusion in my new e-book featuring my favorite 10 columns over the past 10 years.
You can read the column in the ebook here and the whole e-book here.)
